The role

The Quality Assurance team in SSE’s Program Office is looking for an experienced Data Manager to oversee the collection, maintenance and analysis of organizational data.  SSE’s quality assurance processes provide essential input for improvement and development of the School’s academic offerings and internal processes such as courses, degree programs, admission processes and student exchange programs.  The Data Manager will not only be responsible for compiling and reporting data related to quality assurance, but will also be the link between the Quality Assurance team and IT. This position has both strategic and operational responsibilities.

Main responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Oversee the development and use of data systems related to quality assurance
  • Collection and compilation of quantitative and qualitative data
  • Creation and distribution of surveys to students and other SSE stakeholders
  • Together with other team members, analyze data received from surveys and other sources
  • Regular communication with various SSE units regarding internal evaluation processes and findings and/or interpretations of compiled data
  • Ensure collected data is complete, consistent, correct and accurately represents everything it is intended to capture. Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical and legal aspects. Create and enforce policies for effective data management.
  • Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management, external stakeholders etc.
  • Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses. Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.

Your profile

We are looking for an individual who understands the complexity of data structures, information and process flows. You are a problem-solving specialist with integrity, attention to details, and an analytical mindset who is interested in data architecture. You take responsibility for a given task, can independently structure your approach and drive processes forward. You plan work ahead of time, organize and prioritize activities in an efficient way, and can set and keep deadlines. Furthermore, you enjoy collaborating in a team and can relate to others in a perceptive and adaptable way.

Requirement

  • Understanding and experience of similar tasks, such as collection of data, statistical analysis, and reporting of results.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.)
  • Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies.
  • Oral and written fluency in English.

Meritorious

  • Understanding of or experience with Blue and/or Canvas.
  • Understanding of programming languages such as HTML, CSS, XML, SQL.
  • Higher education in computer science or relevant field.
  • Experience working in an academic setting or a similar environment.
  • Understanding of or experience with Power BI.
  • Oral and written fluency in Swedish

Program Office

Program Office is one of the Professional Services units at SSE and consists of 26 colleagues who are responsible for processes concerning quality assurance, admissions and student matriculation. Program Office is also responsible for student exchange and provides program support to program directors.
