The SSE Library is seeking to employ a development focused and visionary Library Director. The Library Director will, together with a team consisting of about ten colleagues, play a key role in developing both the Library and SSE.
The SSE Library should be a highly digitized information and knowledge hub supporting and empowering researchers and students to find new creative ways to conduct scholarly work. Furthermore, the Library should develop and offer expertise on bibliometric research methods, facilitate access to electronic resources and provide expert support. The SSE Library is a natural partner for the dissemination and utilization of scholarly output and a highly appreciated partner in research and learning analytics.
You will manage the overall operational, budgetary and financial responsibilities and activities of the unit. You will also initiate and lead larger development projects, which include areas such as Open Science to enhance quality and output. Moreover, you will network regularly with strategic partners within and outside of the organization.

An academic degree is required, as well as experience from development projects. An understanding of research terms, processes and conditions is essential as well as experience from a modern library. You are perceptive to the organization’s culture, language and vision but are not afraid to question current structures and work procedures. Experience of budgeting and working in an academic environment is a plus.
You have outstanding interpersonal relationship building skills and are a brave business visionary who inspires confidence and can turn visions into practice. You have great problem solving and analytical skills, are innovative and are used to making tough decisions. Furthermore, you have a holistic management approach and excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Swedish.
Permanent employment, full-time. Location: Stockholm School of Economics at the centre of Stockholm. Start: as soon as possible or according to agreement.
