Department of Accounting

The department of Accounting at Stockholm School of Economics has a strategy that rests on excellence in all three academic pillars: research, teaching and outreach. Our faculty publishes regularly in top-tier journals, teaching is conducted in bachelor, master, EMBA and Executive Education programs, and outreach is done in close collaboration with our Accounting Center of Excellence (ACE) companies (Atlas Copco, Deloitte, Ericsson, EY, Handelsbanken, Investor, KPMG, McKinsey, Nordea, PwC, Ratos) and other organizations. Most of these companies and organizations have a strong international presence with a Swedish foundation.

About the role

The person taking on this role will be a key player in teaching. You will take an active role in the management of the Master Program in Accounting, Valuation and Financial Management and work closely with the Head of Department, the Director of the Master Program, the faculty involved in the master program and, of course, the students. This includes teaching, be part of the team that continuously develops the program, and administration of the master courses. The teaching activities may also include activities for Executive Education. For the administrative parts, you will work closely with our department coordinator.

Qualifications

You need a PhD in accounting since you are expected to continually stay up-to-date on recent accounting research and to convert research findings into ‘academic insights’ reports. You have a strong international focus since both companies and students have a diverse geographic and cultural background and presence. But you are not expected to conduct any research of your own.
