Main duties and responsibilities 

The role as Department Coordinator is broad and flexible, consisting of both advanced administration and practical office management. A Coordinator’s responsibilities are wide ranging, including: administering courses (scheduling, planning exams, reporting grades), managing invoices, introducing new staff to the department, arranging meetings and other events, and providing support and information to faculty and students. Primarily, you will work at the Center for Modern Languages and work closely with the Head of Center for Modern Languages. In addition, you will support other parts of the business school and an important part of your work will be to develop flexible working methods and routines.

Qualifications 

Most important is your interest in learning new things and developing effective ways of working. You are technically competent and willing to learn SSE’s digital systems for functions such as learning management, invoice management, room booking and student records. You are flexible enough to adapt easily to changing circumstances, and accustom to working proactively. Furthermore, you are service-minded and work well with other people while also working independently to structure your work and drive processes forward. 

Required  

  • A few years of experience from an administrative role,
  • Oral and written fluency in English and Swedish, 
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications, such as Office 365. 

Meritorious

  • Experience from an academic environment (either by attending a university/higher education yourself or work experience), 
  • Strong communication skills,
  • Experience with and openness to working digitally,
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment. 

Terms

This is a fixed-term, full-time position located in Stockholm until June 30, 2022 with good possibilities for a permanent position. The preferred starting date is August 2, 2021.

Department of Law and Languages 

The Department of Law and Languages is one of seven departments at SSE and consists of 29 faculty and staff member distributed across two separate centers, namely the Center for Business Law and the Center for Modern Languages.  

The aim of the department is to provide top-quality teaching and research in two academic fields that are clearly important for students and other stakeholders in all of SSE’s programs. The faculty conducts research both as an end in itself and as a basis for high quality and relevant teaching. An additional key role for the department is to share its expertise with other SSE departments and the SSE administration.
