SSE Business Lab

About the role

We are looking for an entrepreneurial Marketing Manager who will play an important part of the incubator’s success. Your goal will be to increase the deal flow and number of applicants to our programs by increasing the awareness among students, alumni, and staff of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). You will also evaluate needs of our current start-up companies and assisting with developing our three programs Ideate, Activate and Incubate. This requires working closely to our current start-up companies and our small team at the Business Lab. This is a broad and flexible role where you will be responsible for your own processes and developing your areas of responsibility.

In this role, you will work closely with the External Relations Department at SSE, ensuring that initiatives are in line with the SSE strategy.

Work responsibilities

Just as in start-ups, you experiment, learn, problem-solve, and adjust as you go. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Continuously create and develop engaging marketing material and content for attracting new applicants, including project lead any new initiatives
  • Explore current and future needs of our start-up companies, recognize growth opportunities and act on them to create value together with the Program Managers
  • Discover new ways to communicate the value creation of the programs, and implement them
  • Design the website and all content produced by the Business Lab, based on the established brand guidelines of SSE and SSE Business Lab
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to increase awareness of the Business Lab and programs together with the Partnership Manager
  • Develop an understanding of our three programs and assist in further accelerating our growth

This is a role for someone who is a natural problem-solver and doer. You are likely to be described as an autonomous and creative person, who is eager to learn new things and good at building relationships. You are flexible, service-minded and enjoy working in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. We believe that you are in the beginning of your career, with some experiences from the start-up world and with a strong interest in start-ups and in design.

Requirements

  • Experience from working with or in a start-up/incubator and/or creating and managing your own start-up, including knowledge of start-up environments. Experience from several interactions with the start-up world is highly meritorious.
  • A strong interest in the start-up scene.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Swedish skills are a plus.
  • An interest in creating engaging marketing material and content as well as to develop your competencies within this field. Experience from creating content and marketing material is a plus.
