Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Salary Specialist to join our Human Resources department. The Salary Specialist will be responsible for managing various tasks related to pension matters, tax issues, salary system development, salary administration, and other related questions.

About the position

This is an operational role with strategic elements. The more strategical responsibilities include managing and developing policies, the salary system, and routines to ensure smooth and effective functioning of various salary and HR related functions. You will also be the person who execute the initiatives and development ideas within this area, including for example updating policies, act as contact person for salary, pension, insurance, and tax questions, applying for and following up on tax relief applications, managing ongoing salary administration, managing personnel statistics, developing key figures for HR and being the SSE contact person for insurance matters. You will also drive, initiate, establish, and implement improved routines and processes in the salary system. 

Examples of work responsibilities

  • Updating pension policy and staying updated on ITP 1 and ITP 2 and act as the SSE contact person for all pension-related matters. Proactively sharing knowledge and information with others.
  • Being the internal contact person for tax issues and keeping internal information on this subject updated. This also include being in contact with Swedish authorities and handling questions from international employees.
  • Developing and managing the salary system to improve routines and processes.
  • Managing personnel statistics internally and externally for SCB, the board, and annual reports.
  • Establishing routines for personnel working in one country but living in another.
  • Updating travel policy and representation policy and ensuring routines.
  • Managing ongoing salary administration and being an expert in calculations, analysis, and investigations to support other colleagues.

Your profile

We are seeking a highly motivated doer with a strong focus on delivering high-quality work. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills and be highly structured in their approach. They will be self-starting and able to manage their own workload effectively. The ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in stressful situations is essential. A driven individual with a keen eye for detail and numerical analytical ability would be an ideal fit for this role.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in salary administration and preferably good experience working in AGDA.
  • System knowledge of salary systems, including report management.
  • Digitally curious and sees opportunities to use and develop systems in order to streamline processes.
  • Knowledge of conversion of earnings (“löneväxling” in Swedish) and interest in pension issues, ITP 1 and ITP 2.
  • Competence and interest in tax-related issues and basic knowledge of accounting.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and experience in analyzing and controlling data.
  • Good communication skills in English and fluency in Swedish, both in writing and orally.

Other

This is a part-time/full-time (80-100%), permanent, position based in central Stockholm. A 6-month probationary period applies.
