About the position

The library has an expanding mission in the areas of AI and pedagogical development, and we need to strengthen the team working in these areas.

In this role, you will participate in developing and implementing strategies to improve students’ information literacy, by integrating information literacy into existing educational programs and library services. You will work closely with faculty, the pedagogical development team, and library staff to ensure the integration of library instruction for lifelong learning. 

Your work will also include creating and maintaining an active presence on social media, developing and maintaining the external website to communicate with and engage the library’s users, and creating content that is informative, engaging, and adapted to different target groups. 

Overall, the library needs to be strengthened with an additional resource focused on:

  • Strong interest and capacity to dive deeply into AI-related issues

  • Pedagogical competence

  • Skills in digital development of courses, websites, etc.

  • Interest in teaching and working with education both digitally and on site

The SSE library is a small workplace of 11 employees who all share the customer service duties and the general care-taking of the library; other tasks may be added as needed. 

Your profile

You should have an interest in pedagogy and technology to be able to teach and support users in digital environments, including knowledge of or experience in using digital tools and platforms such as Canvas. You are self-driven with the ability to take initiatives and work closely with other stakeholders in the organization.  

You have an interest and ability to listen to user needs and motivations. You enjoy working in a collaborative setting and a team-oriented environment. You have a strong interest and ability to keep up with digital developments and prioritize where to focus. 

Requirements

  • Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent 

  • High, proven digital competence

  • Strong interest and knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) 
  • English and Swedish

Meritorious

  • Education in pedagogy/didactics 

  • Experience of work with digital architecture and structure or learning platforms 

  • Competence in user experience

This is a full-time position based in Stockholm, the employment will start with a six-month probationary period.
